A determiner used in front of a noun to express possession or belonging (as in "my phone").

The possessive determiners in English are my, your, his, her, its, our, and their.

We use different possessive determiners depending on who owns the thing we are talking about.

Detalhe... hoje ele ganhou :S rs.

I believe that we are exactly what we think we are.

For example, if we think that we are sick, our brain accepts this command and sends signals to our body that can make us really sick.

Many writers and scientists try to understand the human mind and claim based on several studies that human mind is the biggest and best existing computer.

According to studies by psychologist and scientists, the human mind can be programmed to make our body do things that previously didn’t know or was not used, therefore, if we set the mind, the body will perform. The mind refers to the interior of humans and is directly linked to our desires, fears and feelings; therefore, we are really what we think we are and is the mind that gives us that power.

Example:

The sun is a star

Football is a game

Bahia is a city in Brazil.

Beethoven was a composer.

Picasso was a famous painter.

Saturn is a planet

RULES:

Example:

Rachel works in a bank ( not in bank )

Can i ask a question? ( not ask question )

I haven't got a computer.

There's a woman at the bus stop.

AN = before A/E/I/O/U ( Usaremos An, antes de palavras iniciadas com as vogais A/E/I/O/U ).

Example:

Do you want an apple or a banana?

I am going to buy a hat and an umbrella.

Example:

Abraços =)
Anahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05573748965224885967noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6950124848686597161.post-48956947532983957842011-03-20T17:09:00.000-07:002011-03-20T18:57:56.327-07:00Grammar: Be | Present SimpleVerb TO BE - Verbo SER/ESTAR

To be, or not to be, that is the question =)

A conjugação do verbo to be no presente do indicativo é:

Note ainda, que a segunda pessoa do singular (you are) recebe o mesmo tratamento que a segunda pessoa do plural (you are).

Exemplos:

I am a nurse (Eu sou uma enfermeira).

Mary is a nurse (Maria é uma enfermeira) = She is a nurse.

My dog is cute (Meu cachorro é fofinho) = It is cute.

Mary and her sister are teachers (Maria e a irmã dela são professoras) = They are teachers.

We are engineers in Brazil (Nós somos engenheiros no Brasil).

Ao usarmos o verbo to be na forma interrogativa, geralmente empregamos a ordem: “verbo + sujeito + complemento”.

Exemplos:

Are you hungry? (Você está com fome?).

Are they American? (Eles são americanos?).

Is he a singer? (Ele é um cantor?).

Is he the doctor? (É ele o médico?).

Am I late? (Eu estou atrasado?).

Is your dog tired? (O seu cachorro está cansado?).

Nas frases que estão na forma negativa aplica-se a ordem: “sujeito + verbo to be+ not + complemento”. Nas perguntas negativas com o verbo to be, utiliza-se: “verbo na forma contraída + sujeito + complemento” de acordo com a tabela abaixo:
Patsy Cline, She's Got You Lyrics

I've got your picture that you gave to me
And it's signed "with love," just like it used to be
The only thing different, the only thing new
I've got your picture, she's got you

I've got the records that we used to share
And they still sound the same as when you were here
The only thing different, the only thing new,
I've got the records, she's got you

I've got your memory, or has it got me?
I really don't know, but I know it won't let me be
I've got your class ring; that proved you cared

Let's go to study =).
